Entering Singapore for fully vaccinated travelers from Germany will be possible again from September 8th. A previously prescribed quarantine on arrival in Singapore will therefore no longer apply. Germany is the first country with which the metropolis in Southeast Asia has signed a corresponding agreement.

The exemption from the quarantine obligation applies to selected flights, so-called Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) flights. Lufthansa and Singapore Airlines will jointly offer one of these VTL flights from September 16, either from Frankfurt or Munich. Bookings are now possible. In addition, starting September 1, customers will be able to register for the VTL flights on a Singapore government website.

"The opening of Singapore not only enables people to visit family and friends or meet business partners again, but can also have a signal effect for other countries in the region," says Elise Becker, Lufthansa Sales Manager for Asia. “It is more important than ever that countries work out joint solutions to make international air travel possible again. Lufthansa and Singapore Airlines are making a significant contribution to this development. "

Since the Singapore government's announcement, the demand for flights between Germany and Singapore has tripled, according to the AUA parent company.
