Last month, the Latvian airline carried 125.200 passengers - five times more than in the same period last year. During this period, Air Baltic operated a total of 1.920 flights.
“In the first few months of the year we saw a sustained recovery in the aviation sector. In January and February we already carried over 270.000 passengers, which is four times more than at the beginning of last year. However, the dramatic developments in Ukraine will definitely leave their mark and have a negative impact on the recovery,” said airline boss Martin Gauss. A few days ago, the carrier announced that it was withdrawing from the Russian business as a reaction to the armed conflict - Aviation.Direct reported. Air Baltic, based in Riga, is the largest airline in the Baltic States.
