The German holiday airline is bringing travelers to Iceland for the first time: Next year, Condor wants to fly to two destinations in Iceland from Frankfurt Airport.
From May 2023, Condor will be offering a weekly night flight from Frankfurt to Akureyri in the north and to Egilsstaðir in east Iceland. This is the first time the island state has been included in the airline's flight plan. So far, Akureyri and Egilsstaðir are accessible via domestic flights, as well as by car and bus. The two cities are on the ring road that goes around the island and are therefore popular starting points for round trips.
“Iceland is one of the most popular destinations in the north. We look forward to offering our guests the opportunity to discover this varied and natural travel destination for themselves. With the connections to Akureyri and Egilsstaðir, we are also reacting to the great demand from numerous tour operators who offer round trips in the north and east of Iceland," says Condor CEO Ralf Teckentrup.
