Tunisair airline has wet-leased a Boeing 737 Max 8 operated by Miat Mongolian Airlines. It is the only example of this type that is currently part of the contractor's fleet.
The machine was transferred from Ulaanbaatar to Tunis within two days and is now flying on behalf of Tunisair. This carrier already has an Airbus A320 from Heston Airlines on a wet lease. The leased Boeing 737 Max 8 has the registration EI-MNG and has been flying on behalf of Tunisair since August 19, 2022.
The commercial aircraft in question was delivered to Miat brand new in January 2019, but has only been used very rarely since then. This circumstance is also related to the global flight ban that has since been lifted for this type of aircraft. There are currently no plans to fly Boeing 737 Max 8 on its own account. In order to still be able to earn money, the aircraft was positioned on the ACMI and charter market.
