This year, 310 young people started their vocational training at the Lufthansa Group companies. The apprentices are trained in 16 professions at 16 locations in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. We received “many thousands of applications” for the positions.

The careers of the apprentices range from hotel specialists, IT specialists, technical professions in the maintenance operations of the Lufthansa Group to clerks for forwarding and logistics services. There are also various dual courses of study and trainee programs. Most trainees will start their training in Frankfurt and Hamburg, with 134 places mainly in the Hessian metropolis. With around 34.000 employees, Lufthansa is the largest private employer in Hesse.

The airlines of the Group are also hiring junior employees for cabin staff: more than 2022 flight attendants will be hired in 1.880 as a whole. Operations at the European Flight Academy started this summer and several courses will start this year with the two-year training course for commercial pilots: With the restart of the flight school, the Lufthansa Group is still committed to its own training of pilots on the basis of a high and internationally recognized level Quality standards in the selection of candidates and the implementation of the training.

In addition to the offers for school leavers and students, the Lufthansa Group offers many other interesting jobs, especially at the various locations in Germany and Europe. The group of companies intends to hire around 2023 new employees by the end of 20.000.
