Airbus removes major Iran Air order from backlog

It's been a few years, but airlines in Iran were able to order brand-new aircraft from Airbus, Boeing and other manufacturers for a short period of time. Some copies were delivered, but then the US government reintroduced sanctions.

The European manufacturer has kept a larger order on the books for a longer period of time. Since 2018, machines have no longer been allowed to be delivered to Iran. According to a report by Flightglobal, Airbus has finally removed the 97 commercial aircraft that have not yet been delivered, including 38 A330s and 16 A350s, from the order book.

The manufacturer thus assesses the situation in such a way that it is not assumed that the order can be fulfilled within a realistic time frame.
