Bomb threat: Basel Airport had to be temporarily closed

Due to a bomb threat, Basel Airport had to be evacuated and closed from late afternoon on Thursday, October 19, 2023. The all-clear was given later.

The French and Swiss authorities have announced that it was a false alarm. The staff and passengers were able to return to the airport safely.

The Prefect of the Haut-Rhin department strongly condemns the malice that characterizes such threats. The authors will be actively sought and held accountable.
