If you plan your vacation days cleverly, you can look forward to an extended vacation again this year thanks to the good integration of window days. Working people can enjoy up to seven long weekends in March, May, August, November and December this year thanks to the window and public holidays.
Easter: Easter Monday falls on April 1st this year. With just four days of vacation, working people get a total of nine days off around Easter in April - in addition to long-distance travel, a trip to the Red Sea is particularly recommended.
State holiday: May 1st falls on a Wednesday this year. For a relaxing five-day trip you have to take two additional days of vacation. Thanks to their pleasantly warm temperatures in May, the Balearic Islands are particularly suitable for a short trip to the sea.
Ascension of Christ: With just one day of vacation around Ascension Day on May 9th, you can once again enjoy four days of sun, beach and sea this year and take a short stay over the long weekend.
Pentecost: Anyone who invests six days of vacation this year and combines Whit Monday (May 20th) with Ascension Day (May 9th) can enjoy a total of twelve days of relaxation from May 9th to 20th, for example. A holiday on the Red Sea or the Turkish Riviera is particularly suitable for relaxation in May
Corpus Christi: Like every year, Corpus Christi (May 30th) is ideal for a long weekend. Anyone who combines Pentecost with Corpus Christi can enjoy 18 days off from May 2th to June 16nd with just eight days of vacation. At this time in Spain and Italy there are particularly mild temperatures and a relaxed atmosphere.
Assumption Day: The Assumption Day on August 15th falls on a Thursday this year. With four days of vacation you can enjoy nine days off, during which you can, for example, go on a four-day short trip to Croatia.
All Saints Day: With four days of vacation, working people can, for example, spend eight days of vacation around November 1st this year soaking up the sun by the sea. In November you can spend a relaxing beach holiday in Thailand in summer temperatures.
Christmas and New Years Eve: December 25th and 26th fall on a Wednesday and Thursday in 2024, and New Year's Day also falls on a Wednesday in 2025. This means you can take twelve days off with just five days of vacation and make full use of the window days. The days off in December can be enjoyed particularly well under palm trees on the beach, such as in the Maldives or Mauritius.
