The low-cost airline Wizz Air has introduced fully electric aircraft handling at its home base in Budapest in cooperation with handling partner Menzies Aviation.

According to the company's own information, the electricity required for this should come entirely from renewable energy sources. Menzies wants to replace around 2025 percent of the apron devices at all airports where it operates with electrical alternatives by 25. This includes, but is not limited to, passenger stairs, belt loaders and baggage tugs.
