Some China routes will be further increased in the 2024 summer flight schedule from Budapest. The airport said it was pleased about this in a media statement.

Shanghai Airlines, in collaboration with China Eastern Airlines, will improve connections between Shanghai and Budapest by increasing flight frequency. The airline, which currently operates three weekly flights, will transition to daily flights with the start of the summer season, continuing the airport's efforts to strengthen partnerships and provide passengers with better travel options. The company's modern four-class aircraft (B787-9) will be used until the winter season, increasing the airline's capacity by 24% during S35. With the new daily flights, China Eastern offers even better connections to Southeast Asia, New Zealand and Australia from Budapest.

In addition to expanding Shanghai flights, Air China is also increasing flight frequencies to Beijing. From the coming S24 season, the airline will increase its weekly flights from two to three, thereby further improving accessibility between Budapest and the Chinese capital.
