With the 2022/23 winter season, Carinthia has already approached the high level before the pandemic and, with 3,3 million overnight stays, reached around 96% of the overnight volume of the comparable period of the pre-Covid season 2018/19. And the prospects for the summer of 2023 are also consistently positive.

According to the current summer potential study by the Austrian Tourist Board, there is a great desire to travel in the 10 core markets. Approximately 70% of those surveyed are planning a summer vacation. The number of Austria vacation planners in the most important home markets is 20 million people, 3 million more than in the previous year, which had a very good summer result. In view of inflation, even more value is placed on good value for money and holiday decisions are made more consciously. Price-sensitive guests book in the off-season, saving on accommodation and ancillary expenses.

For 66% of Austrian travelers, quality is more important than a cheap price, according to a YouGov survey (commissioned by TUI). 23% of the German Austria target group are willing to spend more money for sustainable accommodation in a holiday hotel. The willingness to spend money with regard to sustainability is highest when it comes to public transport and the origin of food (Conjoint Study: Sustainability aspects in hotel selection, Austria Tourist Board).
