Construction work in Bavaria is affecting Western Railway connections

In the period from March 9th to 19th and on March 24th, 2024, DB Netz AG will be carrying out construction work on the Salzburg-Munich route. This also affects Westbahn trains to Innsbruck and the Bavarian capital.

The DB's construction work in the Deutsches Eck area continues to pose major challenges for Austrian railway companies. In view of the ongoing general renovations and planned construction work on the 140 kilometer long route between Munich and Salzburg in 2027, concepts are currently being worked on to overcome the restrictions, especially for To keep travelers from western to eastern Austria as low as possible.

According to Westbahn, the train connections listed below are affected by restrictions:

March 9th to 19th, 2024:

Salzburg – Innsbruck

  • Direction Innsbruck: Trains 960 and 972
  • Direction Salzburg: Trains 949 and 967

Salzburg – Munich

  • Direction Munich: Trains 962, 966 and 970
  • Direction Salzburg: Trains 963, 965 and 971

  • Direction Innsbruck: Train 958
  • Direction Salzburg: Trains 949 and 967

Salzburg – Munich
