The Mediterranean state of Croatia has once again proven to be a particularly popular holiday destination in 2023. In total there were around 20,6 million tourists who spent around 108 million overnight stays.

The statistics from the HTZ tourism association also show that the pre-crisis volume has been reached again. In a direct comparison with the previous year, Croatia was able to increase arrivals by nine percent and at the same time had three percent more overnight stays.

Austria appears to be particularly important as a source market, as one in three tourists in 2023 came from the Alpine republic. In second place were holidaymakers from Slovenia and most tourists came from the Federal Republic of Germany.
