On January 22, 2024, the Airbus A330-900 operated by Sunclass Airlines with the registration OY-VKP was only scheduled to make a refueling stop in Varna, Bulgaria. However, it didn't stop there because the pilots discovered a defect in the landing gear.

The aircraft was on its way from Phuket to Stockholm-Arlanda under flight number DK2577. A refueling stop is planned in Varna. Before continuing the flight, the pilots did a walkaround and discovered that one of the wheels was defective. A replacement part had to be flown in from Copenhagen.

This had unpleasant consequences for the 384 passengers, as their onward flight was delayed. The long-haul jet was only able to take off from Varna towards Stockholm-Arlanda on the evening of January 23, 2024. The affected passengers were accommodated in nearby hotels.
