Frankfurt Airport opens facial recognition for all airlines

Frankfurt am Main Airport now allows all airports to use facial recognition for check-in, identity verification and boarding purposes. According to its own information, it is the first airport in Europe to take this step.

Until now, the system was available exclusively to Lufthansa Group airlines and selected Star Alliance partners. Before using the service, which is controversial under data protection law, passengers must register once at a machine or via their smartphone.
