Germany: Easyjet sharply criticizes high fees

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The low-cost airline Easyjet sharply criticizes the costs that airlines have to pay at German airports. This refers to regulated taxes and the ticket tax, which is to be increased again on May 1, 2024 in order to improve the ailing state budget.

The lowcoster points out, among other things, that location costs have almost doubled since 2019. This led to capacity being withdrawn and used in other countries that had lower costs. There are warnings that Germany would gradually isolate itself from the world due to the high fees. There is support for these statements from the industry association ADV, which also sharply criticized, among other things, the upcoming increase in the aviation tax in a statement.
