Print Friendly, PDF & Email

If you want to take a trip to the world-famous Großglockner High Alpine Road this year, you have to hurry. After November 5, 2023, the road will be closed due to the annual winter closure.

Until the Großglockner High Alpine Road is closed for the winter, the exhibitions in the visitor center on the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe, but not all restaurants, will be open. The Gamsgrubenweg is closed to visitors from today.

After the storm-related closure and clean-up work, the popular Nockalmstrasse will be open again from Thursday, October 26, 2023 until October 31, 2023 and is also an excellent excursion destination during the autumn holidays.

According to Großglockner Hochalpenstraßen AG, the following toll tariffs apply to the use of the well-known Alpine road in autumn 2023:

  • Car: €30,00 (instead of €40,00)
  • Motorcycle: €23,50 (instead of €30,00)
  • Buses: €4,80 (instead of €6,30 per person)
