Leipzig Airport with 331.793 passengers in the first quarter of 2024

Leipzig/Halle Airport had a total of 2024 passengers in the first quarter of the current year 331.793. In direct comparison to the same period last year, there was an increase of 23,6 percent.

Around two thirds of this came from tourist air traffic. In March, the East German airport had 146.160 passengers. That is 30,5 percent more than in the same month last year.

The cargo volume at Leipzig/Halle Airport from January to March was around 351.272 tons, one percent higher than the previous year. The number of aircraft movements fell by 6,5 percent to 17.571 in the first quarter compared to the previous year. 

In total, Leipzig/Halle and Dresden airports had 477.399 passengers in the first quarter; 15,2 percent more than in the comparable period of 2023. At 21.556 take-offs and landings, the number of aircraft movements was five percent below the previous year's level.
