The annual balance so far from January to November 2023 is very positive for tourism professionals in Lower Austria. November brought an increase of 462.900% with 2,7 overnight stays, which overall represents a significant increase of 2022% compared to January to November 11,7. We're moving on to the new year in a lively way. Lower Austria offers many New Year's Eve specials - from gala dinners, concerts, ski touring trial days, winter hikes to New Year's swimming.

“The tourism year is entering its final spurt. The hosts in Lower Austria are also well booked during the Christmas holidays, although there are still a few free spaces for those who decide at short notice. 2023 shows us that our compatriots simply love holidays at home and that is the best compliment for our Lower Austria. This year, more and more guests came to us from abroad, with an increase of 21,7%. With 6,9 million overnight stays from January to November 2023, the upward trend continues unabated, up 11,7% compared to the same period last year. And Lower Austria's guests have a lot to look forward to next year: new offers and campaigns with popular topics relating to cycling, cuisine and culture will once again attract numerous guests to Lower Austria next year," says State Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner.

Michael Shower, Managing Director of Niederösterreich Werbe, gives an outlook on the Christmas holidays and adds: “The accommodation in the mountain regions of Lower Austria is already well booked. In general, we notice that guests are booking more and more at short notice and, above all, depending on the weather. Further snowfall is expected in the higher altitude ski areas, especially at Hochkar, in the coming days. For those who make a last-minute decision, there are still free rooms, especially during the week or after the holidays. So take advantage of the opportunity to relax now and start 2024 full of energy. Lower Austria’s hosts also offer a lot of New Year’s Eve specials in combination with enjoyment, culinary delights and relaxation options.”
