Nepal: Insurance joins Yeti Airlines

The Nepalese airline Yeti Airlines has a new minority shareholder, Asian Life Insurance. The insurance company has acquired 1,75 per cent stake for Rs 49 crore.

The air carrier, which has been on the market since 1998, specializes in domestic flights. It operates both ATR72-500s and several de Havilland Twin-Otters. In Europe, Yeti Airlines became known to the general public due to the accident of flight YT691, operated by ATR72-500 with registration 9N-ANC. All 72 occupants arrived near Pokhara airport in the crash on January 15, 2023 about life.
