In October 2023, Brussels Airport had 2.016.071 passengers, an increase of 8% compared to the same month of 2022. The two-week semester break for French-speaking schools in Belgium and the autumn break in the Netherlands caused passenger numbers at Brussels Airport to increase from October 20th. In contrast, the suspension of Brussels Airlines flights to Tel Aviv at the beginning of October had a negative impact on passenger numbers.

The share of connecting passengers was 14,5% in October, confirming the role of Brussels Airport as a hub, especially for the airlines of the Star Alliance group and especially for flights from Europe and North America to Africa.

In October, total cargo volumes at Brussels Airport fell by 2022% compared to October 3, reaching 64.220 tonnes. After several months of decline, the volume of cargo flown increased slightly (+0,4%) and amounted to 53.646 tons.

In October 2023, the number of flight movements increased by 3% to 17.313. The number of passenger flights increased by 2022% compared to 7. On average, 142 passengers were carried per flight, two more than in October last year, due to the use of larger aircraft and higher seat occupancy per flight. The number of cargo flights fell by 2022% compared to October 8.
