Budapest Airport will have a sixth China route effective June 22, 2024, as Shanghai Airlines will reactivate the Xi'an route in cooperation with China Eastern Airlines.

Starting June 22, the airline will offer weekly round-trip flights between Shanghai, Xi'an and Budapest on Saturdays. “It is wonderful news that Shanghai Airlines has confirmed its commitment to expanding connections between Hungary and China, and we are confident that the resumption of service to Xi'an will be well received by both business and leisure travelers. We look forward to working closely with the airline to ensure the success of the route and further strengthen the relationship between our two countries by creating more opportunities for tourism and business,” said Balázs Bogáts, CCO, Budapest Airport.
