South Korea: Airlines must warn against illegal opening of emergency exits

Because it has repeatedly happened that passengers have opened emergency exits without any apparent reason or even an instruction from the crew, the South Korean Ministry of Transport now wants to require all carriers to explicitly point out that this is not permitted.

An incident that occurred in May 2023 caused a stir. A man opened an emergency exit at an altitude of around 200 meters while approaching Daegu. Two other similar but less spectacular incidents have occurred this year alone. There are severe penalties in South Korea.
