The Bombardier CRJ-900, which was flown by Xfly on behalf of SAS, had to turn back on the way from Stockholm-Arlanda to Helsinki because of the smell of smoke in the cabin.

Shortly after takeoff, the pilots reported via radio that there was a smell of smoke in the cabin. They requested a return landing in Stockholm-Arlanda, which was completed successfully. The travelers were then transported to their destination Helsinki on a replacement aircraft.

SAS said in a statement that the cause of the smell of smoke is still unclear. In any case, it is expressly confirmed that there was no fire on board the ES-ACN. Technicians will take a close look at the affected regional jet.
