Switzerland: dead after helicopter accident

On April 2, 2024, a helicopter accident occurred in Switzerland on the northern mountain slope of Petit Combin in the canton of Valais.

According to cantonal police, three inmates are said to have died. On board the helicopter were the pilot, a mountain guide, and his four customers. Two of the injured were treated on the mountain before being taken to the hospital in Sitten. A third person was also rescued. The

It was a so-called heli-ski flight. Athletes and a mountain guide were supposed to be taken to around 3.668 meters. For reasons that are still unclear, the helicopter slid down the slope. The accident investigation is ongoing.
