The tour operator Tui Austria has announced that it will increase capacity in summer 2024 due to high demand in Crete. Also new to the program are two flight connections with Wizz Air from Vienna to Chania and from Budapest to Heraklion.

In the months of July and August 2024, there will also be charters with Austrian Airlines, so that around 1.800 additional customers can be flown to Heraklion. There are flights to Crete from Vienna several times a day in summer. On Saturdays alone, there are five flights from Vienna to Heraklion and two flights to Chania. From July 1st, the new TUI full charter flight with Austrian Airlines to Heraklion starts every Monday.

The flight will take place until September 2nd with an Airbus A320, which provides 180 seats for Tui guests. In addition, from June 30th there will be two additional Chania flights with Wizz Air in addition to the three existing flight connections with Austrian Holidays to Chania. There are flights directly to Heraklion several times a week from the federal state airports: 5x from Linz, 4x from Graz, 3x from Salzburg and 2x from Innsbruck. From Budapest, Tui is offering a new flight connection with Wizz Air to Heraklion every Thursday and Saturday in the summer months of June to September.
