The aviation company Turkish Airlines has announced that as a precautionary measure it is temporarily withdrawing from service the five Boeing 737-Max-9s that have the same configuration as the one that was affected by an incident at Alaska Airlines.

“Following the incident involving the Alaska Airlines Boeing 737-Max-9, five Boeing 737-Max-9s from the Turkish Airlines fleet were requested for inspection as a precautionary measure as a result of the preliminary investigation by the authorities,” said a spokesman for Turkey's largest air carrier. “Until the technical review of the incident is completed and the measures requested by the authorities are taken, Turkish Airlines has decided to withdraw five Boeing 737-Max-9s from its fleet from operations at the airport where they will first land. Flight safety is our top priority.”
