At Airbus Canada, a collective bargaining dispute has been simmering for some time with a union that is demanding higher salaries for around 1.300 employees. The factory at Montrael-Mirabel Airport is affected.

The aircraft manufacturer has already submitted three offers. According to local media reports, employee representatives let their members vote on the latest offer from management. This was rejected by a 70 percent majority. This also surprised the trade unionists, because they actually thought that the basic demands of the members had been met. It is assumed that the level of pay and working hours did not suit the unionized Airbus employees. Negotiations will now begin again with management.
