In its annual theme for 2024, “Heartbeat Streets,” WienTourismus is putting Vienna’s neighborhoods outside the tourist center at the forefront of its marketing activities. The goal: The entire city should benefit from tourism value creation, and the greater Vienna area should also benefit from regional partnerships. With the help of Vienna's city guide app "ivie", guests are playfully encouraged to explore unknown sides of the city

Vienna's neighborhoods are pulsating. As places of encounter, exchange and creativity, they increasingly fascinate visitors to the city who are looking for authentic experiences and encounters with originals in the post-pandemic travel age. Vienna has a lot to offer. Under the motto “Heartbeat Streets,” Vienna Tourism will be putting eleven special neighborhoods that couldn’t be more different on an international stage next year – and will include the people who shape these districts. As part of an information event in the Ottakringer Brunnenpassage, City Councilor for Economic Affairs Peter Hanke and Tourism Director Norbert Kettner presented the strategic concept of “Heartbeat Streets” to the district representatives. Its origins can be found in Vienna's tourism strategy - the Visitor Economy Strategy presented in 2019.
