Vienna Ice Dream starts on January 19, 2024

From January 19, 2024 it will be “ice free!” again. On this day, the Vienna Ice Dream starts its 29th season, which will last until March 3rd. The icy fun will be open to visitors again on two levels for a total of 45 days. With the ice dream at the Christmas market, the 2023/24 ice skating season in front of the town hall lasts an impressive 103 days.

The popular winter sports event, which has taken place every year since 1996 on Vienna's Rathausplatz, started out as the size of an ice hockey rink and has been continuously developed over the years. Recently, extensive measures were implemented to significantly reduce the event's energy consumption.
