On the occasion of the Latvian airline's 26th birthday, a student pilot from the Air Baltic Pilot Academy created a unique drawing above the sky.
The budding pilot flew a special route which, from a bird's eye view, produced the number 26. Under the motto “Marking 26 Years in the Sky”, the airline has also opened the flight Video held. A Diamond DA40 was used.
“Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have developed considerably and accelerated the change necessary for future growth. We have reached important milestones in the past 26 years and are well equipped to emerge from this crisis even stronger than before. We are grateful to our employees, passengers and partners for accompanying us on this journey together, ”said airline boss Martin Gauss.
The airline was founded in the early autumn of 1995 with the signing of a joint venture between the Latvian state and Scandinavian Airlines (SAS). On October 1st, Air Baltic carried out its first commercial flight from Riga to Stockholm with the Saab SF340. In these 26 years the company has carried a total of over 46 million passengers on more than 780.000 flights.
