Not only the airport was affected by the effects of a storm, but also numerous passengers.

Air New Zealand has launched one of the largest customer recalls in its history after 9000 customers who due to the extreme weather in Auckland and the closure of the airport had to be rebooked. Leanne Geraghty, Air New Zealand's Chief Customer and Sales Officer, confirmed that the call center team has been realigned to allow for faster processing of rebookings. Enormously heavy rainfall has meant that New Zealand's Auckland Airport had to be temporarily closed from Friday. Auckland Airport has now reopened.
