The Australian regional airline Alliance Airlines is currently one of the largest Fokker operators in the world. On April 10, 2021, the Embraer 190 model will be used commercially from Adelaide and Darwin. In the long term, these regional jets will replace the aging Fokker fleet.

Alliance Airlines currently has 27 Fokker 100s, 14 Fokker 70s and five Fokker 50s in service. Numerous Fokker 70/100 come from stocks of Austrian Airlines and Helvetic Airways. Since the machines are now getting on in years, the Australian airline will replace them in the medium term with used Embraer 190s. There are currently five of this type and the formal approval for commissioning was received at the end of March 2021. A total of 30 Embraer 190s were secured.
