Amsterdam: Project seventh runway finally discarded

A seventh runway was actually supposed to be built at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. This should be created parallel to the existing Kaagbaan (06/24). The project has now been finally discarded.

Transport Minister Harbers announced that the project will not be implemented because a recent analysis has concluded that the revenue would not exceed the construction costs of the planned runway. Furthermore, there would be no significant noise advantages for the population, since there would only be a displacement. The corresponding land reservation has been cancelled. Schiphol Group welcomes the decision.
