The Lufthansa subsidiary Austrian Airlines has separated from its Bratislava-based technology company “Austrian Airlines Technik Bratislava”. The company was sold to Samco.

The AUA itself did not announce the sale, but the buyer issued a press release about it. According to Samco, the Bratislava location is to be expanded and further developed as a competence center for A220, Embraer E-Jets including the E2 series. Initially, both companies will be operated in parallel, but potential synergies will be sought. A merger of Austrian Airlines Technik Bratislava with the existing Slovakian Samco company is planned at a later date.
