Summer vacation is just around the corner: AUA is now increasing the frequency again.
In the upcoming summer holidays, Greece is one of the most heavily booked and sought-after destinations. The Lufthansa subsidiary is also noticing this: To date, Austrian Airlines has recorded a total of 96.000 passengers on flights to Greece for the months of July and August. The front runners are Crete, followed by Rhodes and Kos. In particular, the Heraklion demand has tripled since May. We are reacting to the increased demand and are increasing capacities on this route, ”says Sales Director Michael Trestl.
In addition to the currently daily flights to Heraklion, a Boeing 24 long-haul aircraft will be used on Saturdays from July 4th to September 777th inclusive. With the use of the largest aircraft type in the Austrian Airlines fleet, around 100 more passengers can be transported per Saturday flight on the route to Heraklion. On all other days of traffic, the route is served by an aircraft from the Airbus A320 family.
