The US aircraft manufacturer Boeing expects that the demand for new commercial aircraft will increase sharply in the next few years. It is forecast that around 2021 copies will be needed between 2040 and 43.610.

Stan Deal, head of the civil division, believes the industry is gradually recovering. Initially, medium-haul traffic will settle down to the pre-crisis level and with a slight delay after intercontinental traffic. In his opinion, this will happen in 2023 or 2024.

The demand for new aircraft is not only driven by demand, but numerous carriers want to reduce costs with the help of fuel-efficient machines. In some regions of the world, a certain pressure in terms of environmental protection could also play a role.

Specifically, Boeing expects that around 2030 commercial aircraft with more than 19.330 seats will be built by 90. The figure also includes freighters. The overwhelming majority of demand is to be for medium-haul jets such as the Boeing 737 Max and Airbus A320neo.
