Cirium: Norwegian was the most punctual airline in Europe in May 2023

According to Cirium, Norwegian Air Shuttle was the most punctual airline in May 2023, with 89,25% of flights arriving on time. Lot scored 88,68 percent.

Iberia, Finnair and Austrian Airlines also made the top five, offering their customers on-time service on over 80% of flights. No UK airline featured in the top 10 most punctual European airlines.

Globally, Avianca was named the most punctual airline in May, with 89,51% of flights arriving at their destinations on time. Second place was hard fought: Delta Air Lines achieved an on-time performance of 88,86%, just ahead of LATAM Airlines, which took third place with 88,23%. Iberia and ANA took fourth and fifth place with 86,63% and 86,04% respectively.

Four of the five most punctual airports are in North America, with Minneapolis-St. Paul took first place. Detroit, Salt Lake City and Philadelphia also made the top five, as did Bogota Airport, which took second place. Oslo Airport was the most punctual in Europe: 86,41% of all flights departed on time.

The number of canceled flights within Europe remained relatively constant in May 2023 compared to the previous month. In May 2023, 7.600 flights were canceled within Europe, compared to 7.468 in April 2023.
