Corona aid: Salzburg Airport is rejected by the Constitutional Court

Salzburg Airport has not received any Corona aid to date. It doesn't look like anything will be paid out either, because they suffered a setback before the Constitutional Court.

The controversial funding conditions, which were invented by the then Kurz government, stipulate that companies that are publicly owned are excluded. Both the trade fair and Salzburg Airport initially took legal action at the Vienna Commercial Court. The case went all the way to the Constitutional Court, which ruled against the plaintiffs.

Things turned out differently for Graz Airport, as they won and were subsequently awarded 1,5 million euros including interest. The reason for the strongly different decisions is probably that the ownership structure is different.
