“Moments of happiness on the ship” – this is the motto under which the DDSG Blue Danube fleet, consisting of seven modern ships, sets off on countless boat trips throughout the day and evening. The DDSG Blue Danube themed trips, in which Wien Holding is also involved, will attract visitors in December 2023 with Christmas attractions combined with the appropriate culinary delights and the corresponding musical accompaniment.
“Our December theme cruises are more than just a cruise – they are a tribute to the festive season. With every trip we create unique experiences that bring the joy of the Christmas season to life,” says Managing Director Wolfgang Hanreich. Advent brunch, St. Nicholas boat trip & Christmas dream ship
On the first three Sundays of Advent, the MS Admiral Tegetthoff (on December 17th the MS Kaiserin Elisabeth) invites you to a brunch on the waves of the Danube. On board, passengers can indulge in culinary delights from JP Donau Catering's range of restaurants, including musical accompaniment from Caroline Kreutzberger or Ines Pop. The diverse buffet contains delicacies such as pike-perch fillet, beef ragout, bacon-wrapped chicken, Shopska salad, potato cream soup and much more.
On Friday, December 8th, the MS Admiral Tegetthoff and the MS Dürnstein are going on a special St. Nicholas excursion. The pre-Christmas boat trip for the whole family invites you to snack on snacks and a children's make-up station. On board the MS Dürnstein, Clown Poppo enchants everyone in his popular participatory show with magic, clowning, comedy and his own children's songs. On board the MS Admiral Tegetthoff, children can enjoy the Theater Alequin's Punch and Judy show, “Kasperl und Buffi”. Afterwards, Santa Claus personally presents each child with a bag lovingly filled with sweets.
On Saturday, December 9th and Wednesday, December 20th, the MS Admiral Tegetthoff will be transformed into a Christmas dream ship. The stylishly decorated ship takes a celebratory evening cruise along the Vienna skyline. Meanwhile, guests on board can look forward to a Christmas specialty buffet with salmon with rose hip jam, smoked duck breast, juicy wild boar ragout with porcini mushrooms, chocolate crumble with apricot mascarpone cream and much more and experience Christmas classics from the party band Hydra Trio or Christmas All Stars
Christmas World Tour, Rat Pack X-Mas Special & Gospel Cruise
A Christmas trip around the world with Dennis Jale, Vincent Bueno and Caroline Kreutzberger will take place on Sunday, December 10th on board the MS Admiral Tegetthoff. Guests enjoy a leisurely Sunday drive through Vienna, a Christmas buffet with specialties from all over the world and a musical trip around the world from Scandinavia to Spain.
The MS Admiral Tegetthoff invites you to the Rat Pack X-Mas Special on Wednesday, December 13th. There, guests can look forward to great songs from Las Vegas by Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin. A festive boat trip through Vienna, an American Christmas buffet and Rat Pack melodies from bygone times with the Christmas special “Winterwonderland”, staged by the “Gang Guys Show Band”, will make this evening unforgettable.
On Tuesday, December 19th and Friday, December 22nd, the Ensemble Gospel & More will provide a powerful soul and gospel feeling on board the DDSG Blue Danube. Passengers can expect a Christmas evening cruise along the Vienna skyline, a varied Christmas buffet and an incomparable Christmas gospel performance.
MS Kaiserin Elisabeth: Christmas with Maya Hakvoort
The grand dame of musicals invites you to an atmospheric Christmas concert. On Sunday, December 17th, guests can expect an evening full of splendor and Christmas magic. Maya Hakvoort – the musical star from “Elisabeth”, “Jekyll & Hyde”, “Cabaret” and “Sunset Boulevard” – will perform a unique show with a Christmas atmosphere together with pianist Martin Wöss. Also included is a delicious 3-course menu.
