Lufthansa Group green fares continue to be in low demand

The Lufthansa Group's “Green Fares” continue to prove to be real slow sellers, as they are said to have only been sold around 265.000 times since their introduction.

The number of customers mentioned was mentioned in the course of communicating the latest half-year figures and is not exclusive to Lufthansa, but rather group-wide, i.e. including the subsidiaries that also offer this “eco tariff”. In view of the sharp increase in the number of passengers, sales of the “Green Fare” are rather meager.

Aviation is repeatedly accused of greenwashing. The comparatively expensive "Green Fare" of the Lufthansa Group has also been criticized. "Green" should be that 20 percent of the surcharge should flow into SAF and the rest into climate protection projects. The company's own provider Compensaid is used for this.
