In 2023, the ÖAMTC driving technology recorded a total of 116.800 course participants in the eight driving technology centers across Austria. This corresponds to an increase of 2.000 people compared to 2022.

“It is particularly important to us that ÖAMTC driving technology was once again by far the most popular point of contact for new drivers in multi-phase training in Austria last year - people trust in our high ÖAMTC quality standards. In keeping with the 20th anniversary of the successful multi-phase training, we were able to celebrate the 2023th in July 750.000. Welcoming participants in the ÖAMTC driving technology,” says Karl-Martin Studener, managing director of the ÖAMTC driving technology.

Increasing safety in road traffic is one of the core goals of ÖAMTC driving technology and is an integral part of the brand DNA. “Modern technology is making vehicles increasingly safer – but it has physical limits that you have to know, experience and train,” explains Studener.

11.500 participants in commercial vehicle training (trucks, buses and tractors)

Last year, a total of 11.500 participants completed the mandatory professional driver training for trucks or buses (C/D95) for safe road traffic - this also included training for the safe use of tractors. “In 2024, the cycle of legally required further training for professional drivers will end for many driving license holders – we recommend registering as soon as possible,” informs Studener. Furthermore, the ÖAMTC Driving Technology Professional Driver Academy offers full training for prospective truck and bus drivers who are already employed by a company - for example, the Austrian Post and Spar AG made use of this vocational training last year.

The police, fire brigade, rescue organizations and the armed forces also relied on ÖAMTC Fahrtechnik's professional training courses in 2023 and had their employees trained or further trained in the eight centers.
