In the 3rd quarter of 2021, 726.583 passengers used Dortmund Airport as a departure or destination airport. During this time, Dortmund Airport was able to welcome almost twice as many passengers as in the entire first half of the year. Compared to the 3rd quarter of the record year 2019, this corresponds to 95 percent.

Especially in the summer months of July and August, Dortmund Airport was able to achieve values from the pre-crisis year with around 250.000 travelers each. The number of total flight movements increased by an average of 20 percent in the past quarter compared to the previous year. A total of 10.699 take-offs and landings took place at Dortmund Airport during this period.

With an optimistic view of the future

The outlook for the coming quarter is also positive: Dortmund Airport expects around 730 flights to 59 destinations in the autumn holidays. In these two weeks alone, around 115.000 passengers are expected at the Ruhr Area Airport.
