Emirates and Qantas are extending their partnership for another five years.

Passengers of both airlines would benefit from expanded access to an extensive common route network for trips to Australia, New Zealand and Europe. The agreement was signed by Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline, and Alan Joyce, CEO of the Qantas Group, at the Annual General Meeting of the International Air Transport Association in Boston.

“The extension of our partnership with Qantas is proof of their success. With this collaboration, we aim to keep providing the best connections to customers traveling to and from Australia. Despite the challenges of the past 18 months, today's announcement shows Emirates is here to stay, ”said Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline.

Cooperation until 2028

The airlines already have regulatory approval to operate a joint venture until March 2023. Qantas and Emirates now plan to reapply for approval to continue the core elements of the partnership through 2028. These include coordinating pricing, flight schedules, sales and tourism marketing on approved routes. The agreement includes an option to extend it for a further five years.

For Emirates customers, the offer gives access to over 55 Australian destinations not served by Emirates, and Qantas customers can fly Emirates to Dubai and reach over 50 cities in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa that are not served by Qantas will. Together, Qantas and Emirates offer their customers more than 100 codeshare destinations, including 38 destinations in Great Britain and Europe, 55 destinations in Australia and New Zealand, 13 destinations in Africa and the Middle East and two destinations in Asia.
