The EU Commission had a small “Christmas present” for the Polish Star Alliance member LOT, because the rescue package submitted by the government for approval was given the green light. In total, the carrier will receive 650 million euros.
Of this, 400 million euros will be paid out in the form of a subordinated loan granted by the state holding company Polski Fundusz Rozwoju. LOT receives a further 250 million euros through a direct grant, which is made available through the issue of new shares that are acquired through PGL. The ownership will not change as a result of the measures.
