The earthquake in Turkey and Syria has triggered a wave of relief efforts in the travel industry.

The German-Turkish Sun Express has already carried out 42 special flights to bring medical teams to the affected region. The airline has also evacuated more than 3500 people from the affected cities and is operating free domestic flights. Competitor Pegasus does the same for the carrier, more than 100 special flights have already gone to the airline's account. Those affected could book domestic flights free of charge until yesterday.

The dismay of the catastrophic consequences of the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria is great in the travel industry. Many responded quickly and organized fundraisers. Among the airlines, Turkish Airlines is also involved. The airline has already sent planes full of relief supplies from Nuremberg Airport to the crisis region
