Once again, drones have been spotted at Frankfurt Airport. There were restrictions in air traffic.

Drones again led to restrictions and delays in air traffic and a police operation on Saturday evening. Due to the incident, two flights had to be canceled and a cargo flight temporarily diverted to Cologne. Two flights landed late. In addition, 23 flights received an exemption from the night flight ban after 23 p.m. The last machine started at 23.29:XNUMX p.m. That reports the FAZ. A hunter who was near runway 18 West had accidentally sighted drones and immediately alerted the police.

A search was then initiated - but to no avail. Although the emergency services were able to detect further drones in the entire airport area, so far neither the unmanned aerial vehicles nor the pilots could be located. That is why witnesses are now being sought, and some have already been questioned. It turned out that the sighted drone was significantly larger than actually allowed. The officials assume a targeted disruptive action by unknown perpetrators. The criminal proceedings are ongoing.
