Fraport AG was able to generate an operating result of 158,3 million euros in the first quarter of the current year. The Group believes that the recovery in passenger numbers will also strengthen the economic result.

The turnover of the international airport operator increased by 41,9 percent to 765,6 million euros. The operating result (EBITDA) was more than 100 percent plus at 158,3 million euros. In the traditionally weakest quarter of the year, the consolidated result climbed to minus 32,6 million euros (Q1 2022: minus 118,2 million euros).

"We're heading in the right direction: The recovery in passenger numbers that started at the start of the new financial year is strengthening our financial result in the first quarter," says Dr. Stefan Schulte, CEO of Fraport AG. “For the summer we expect growth of 15 to 25 percent in Frankfurt. We are preparing intensively for this. The stable performance during the Easter holidays makes us cautiously optimistic. The recovery has made further progress at our international airport holdings, which are heavily influenced by tourism. In addition to Greece, other airports will come close to the pre-crisis level over the course of the year. For the year as a whole, we expect continued positive business development within the scope of the given outlook.”
