A few days ago, the Ministry of Health, in cooperation with the Federal Computing Center, presented the app for the “Green Pass” - but only for Apple users. The application is now also available for the Android operating system. 

The delay for the Android version was due to the review process at Google, the Ministry of Health said today to the APA - the app was submitted on July 1. In the near future, the app should not only be available via the direct link, but also via the search function in Google's “Playstore”.

No storage in the cloud

The application saves the data exclusively offline - i.e. only on the end user's mobile phone. The EU-compliant certificate is shown in a simplified version in the app: Only essential information is then displayed, such as first name, last name, Covid-19 vaccine and the EU-compliant QR code. According to the Ministry of Health, there is no storage in a cloud.
