The regional airline Helvetic Airways took over its eighth Embraer E190-E2 on Friday. The machine was transferred from São José dos Campos via Natal and Las Palmas to Zurich. The jet landed at the largest airport in Switzerland at around 10:15 a.m.

The arrival of HB-AZH also marked the end of E190-E2 deliveries. The carrier converted part of the order into the larger model E195-E2. These are to be handed over from June 2021. According to the current planning status, the fleet is to consist of four E2021s, eight E190-E190s and four E2-E195s by the end of 2.

In 2018, Embraer and Helvetic Airways announced a purchase agreement for 12 E190-E2s and options for a further dozen. Last year, the regional airline decided to convert some copies of the firm order to the larger Embraer E195-E2. It is still open whether the carrier will draw further options.
